Terrorism

 Terrorism

"Overall, 2018 experienced over 8,000 terrorist attacks worldwide, and around 33,000 fatalities from terrorism."

"Terrorism has become the systematic weapon of war that knows no borders or seldom has a face." -Jacques Chirac

Terrorism is a concept that requires no introduction, solely due to its occurrence in our world.

(1)Terrorism is defined in the Oxford Dictionary as “the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.”

The idea of innocents and civilians dead at the hands of another with an ulterior motive with the unlawful use of violence and intimidation can be classified within this category.

A necessity for a crime to be classified as terrorism requires it to be done against civilians with an intent to cause fear through the use of violence and threat of the use of violence.

Terrorism has become a means of achieving one's political, religious, economic, or social goals via the destruction of public and private property and casualties.

For example (2) “some religious terrorists are inspired by defensive motives, others seek to ensure the predominance of their faith, and others are motivated by an aggressive amalgam of these tendencies”.

Terrorism has been present for centuries yet the concept has not been completely abolished and is still partially evident in modern society.

However common morals and beliefs have slowly morphed the abolishment of terrorism into a goal that is being worked towards steadily.
