Endangered Species

 Endangered Species

"There are 41,415 species on the IUCN Red List, and 16,306 of them are endangered species threatened with extinction."

"We all have a responsibility to protect endangered species, both for their sake and for the sake of our own future generations." ~ Loretta Lynch

An infinite variety of creatures walk the earth alongside us, yet they are faced with numerous challenges that have forced them on the path of extinction.

Animals play an extremely significant part in our lives, yet are still taken for granted.

They are present in our lives in different forms such as food, companions, accessory, clothing, and even as an outlet for a hobby (hunting).

It’s a well fact that poaching has been deemed illegal for a variety of reasons and due to it being a major threat to wildlife globally and loss of biodiversity.

However, only a small portion of the wildlife trade is considered illegal such as the poaching of tigers and elephants for their tusks, skin, and bones.

As unfathomable as it may seem, [2] Rhino poaching in South Africa increased from 13 to 1,004 between 2007 and 2013, this can be estimated to a 7700% increase.

Animals deserve much more than we provide them with and it is our own fault that they have been forced under the ever-growing list of endangered species.

The situation of endangered species and extinction is steadily becoming one of growing concern.

If severe actions are not taken immediately we may have finally crossed the line we so desperately need to avoid, a line where any action taken will be of no use!

Ageing population "Every industry is going to be affected (by the aging population). This creates tremendous opportunities and tremendous challenges." -Pat Conroy " There were 703 million people aged 65 years or over in the world in 2019 and the number of older people is projected to double to 1.5 billion in 2050." Ageing population refers to the change in the age composition of a population such that there is an increase in the proportion of older people.  The average or median age or of the citizens of a country increases due to a longer life expectancy of its citizens of a lower birth rate per year. The provision of healthcare, as well as the improvement in it due to advancements in technology, have lead to a longer life expectancy, leading to a rising ageing population. The increase in the aged population does provide some economic advantages.  Due to older people having higher accumulated savings than younger individuals, a large ageing population can result ...
