Water Pollution

 Water Pollution

"Each year 1.2 trillion gallons of untreated sewage, stormwater, and industrial waste are dumped into US water."

"Water and air, the two essential fluids on which all life depends have become global garbage cans." -Jacques Yves Cousteau

Numerous lakes, seas, ponds, and oceans, all are extremely significant parts of this globe, however many water bodies are polluted by plastic items, sewage, heavy metals, organic chemicals, and microbes.

Britannica [1]defines water pollution as "the release of substances into subsurface groundwater or into lakes, streams, riversestuaries, and oceans to the point where the substances interfere with beneficial use of the water or with the natural functioning of ecosystems

Water pollution has reached the extent until which [2] every year more people die from unsafe water than all forms of violence, including war.

In reality water pollution indirectly harms humans as well.

From the toxic substances in our drinking water to the possible spread of diseases due to consuming infected sea creature as seafood as well as the lack of water safe for consumption, impacts of water pollution are visible on our health.

It has said that we have only explored 5 percent of the ocean has been topographically imaged, which leaves 95 % of the secrets held beneath these water bodies uncovered.

However, the reality is that if changes are not brought soon, we may never get to experience the vast possibilities of marine sea life that are yet to be discovered or the species of flora and fauna present on the sea floors that remain a mystery.

Water pollution is a global issue that needs to be tackled for creatures, beings, and humanity.
